allkpop – what happened?

5 Oct

“A perfect ensemble for a music video, of course!

As we have reported earlier, Wheesung has been gaining tons of respect from his fellow artistes for his undeniable talents in vocal as “Korea’s Best Vocalist.” He also recently proposed his upcoming debut in the U.S. with the best singer of all times, Ne-Yo. Many of his fans are desperately waiting for their harmony to sing a song that couldn’t make it on Micheal Jackson’s stage due to his sudden death.

Back to the point, sctor Ji Sung is set to take a role of the main character for Wheesung’s new music video, Jooreurek (Flows of Tears). Jooreurek is the title song for Wheesung’s new album entitled Vocalate, ready to be released on the 8th of this month. The representative of Wheesung’s agency stated “Ji Sung is currently shooting the music video around Boondang, Kyungkido.”

Ji Sung concluded his role in the drama SBS “Swallow the Sun”, and took a very short break before moving straight onto the filming of Wheesung’s new music video. Although the filming of the drama continued restlessly for three to four months, he gladly accepted the offer of Wheesung without any hesitation.

Another representative added, “The two best friends, Ji Sung and Wheesung, have been the number one fans of each other. Their friendship ultimately resulted in his participation for Wheesung’s new music video. We can’t thank him enough for accepting it regardless of his busy schedule. We have nothing to worry about.”

Meanwhile, Wheesung will initiate his promotion for his new album starting from October 8th.”  -allkpop article today

Can you spot the mistakes?  Can you spot the ridiculous statements?  I just had to post a message (comment 4: mk23) on the site after reading the ‘article’:

I’ve been a member of this site for 2 years now, and this must be one of the worst articles I’ve read.  I haven’t commented for a long time since allkpop started to get famous and ultra-popular, but reading this article forced me to write something.

Could you please proof-read your article?  Several huge mistakes, including spelling Michael incorrectly.  Not only is that my name (Michael… not Jackson), but to have the late, great legend’s name spelt incorrectly is just downright shabby writing.

And to call Ne-Yo the “best singer of all times” (note grammar too) is just plain foolish…

—–

I had more to say, but I don’t like being an ass.  This is the first time I’ve complained about a writer in any form, but this is incompetancy on a massive scale.

How did allkpop end up with writers like these when they became so big and popular, with an average of over 3000 people online at allkpop at any one time?

I used to loved allkpop, and I still go there every day, but the quality of some of the new writers is very questionable… sometimes the writing is just down right annoying.  The only reason I go there anymore is the news updates are so fast.  allkpop needs to fix things.  Just because there has been a huge influx of 12 year old members, doesn’t mean they can write like one…

Now I’m just waiting for a barrage of insults from die-hard allkpop fans and pre-pubescent kids … oh joy!

oh do you know who is the original allkpop founder? i never really keep track on the writers of kpop blogs till recently..lol. i only know alvin (now in allkpop) and ellie (seoulbeats) and that’s it. only till recently i found out that even kpop blogs have their own drama lol and began to notice their writers and team ^^.

johnny is the original founder, alongside de_la_methode i think. I wasn’t there right at the start of akp, but it was pretty early on when articles had less then 20 comments..

I migrated to akp after another site, asianjunkies.com, closed down. the owner of asianjunkies – kensai – went on to write for akp, but he left to concentrate on his full time gig after graduating.

alvin as in coolsmurf right? its weird, his blogs on his old site wasn’t like this, but after being with akp, he’s started to develop a pervy sense of humor.. must be contagious !

i quite liked it when these sites were relatively small communities. our comments would be replied to by the authors, and in general, a healthy but enjoyable discussion is started. now… the majority of comments are just -“FIRST!!!11!!” “I LOVE DBSK” “BIG BANG VIP!!!” “SOSHI HWAITING!!1” “I MISS JAEBUM ><"

lol on the ‘majority of comments’ but i agree. the only site that i have been kinda ‘loyal’ to is soompi..i’m with them since the beginning.. nowadays i don’t even bother replying and being active as its starting to get really hostile over there. i miss the old, small and friendly soompi.

    and wah..delacroix was here.

        It’s all good.
        Our usernames are pretty ambiguous.
If it weren’t for your default pic, I would have thought you were a girl, too, because qoobie rhymes with… a female body part ^-^

haha i never thought about my username in that way. it originates from Qoo, the little alien-cat mascot for a Japanese drink. used to have a weird fascination with the character and it just stuck o_o

AllKpop is boring now. The articles used to be funny and entertaining (perverted but LOL hilarious). 90% of the articles in AllKpop make me yawn and they’re barely even readable.

Agreed! Very hit and miss these days…
